Ancient PC parts won’t help, Apple is proprietary. Apple has only recently made it possible to place a superior operating system (Windows) on their machines, because they realized that 90% of users and businesses world wide uses Windows

Below is a site that includes a list of compatible hardware and feedback from successful OSx86 users.
But you are probably better off buying a mac. OSx86 builds are hit and miss at best. Even if you get it to boot you’re not likely to get every component to work, such as network, dual core, audio or full speed video. If you want to experiment with existing hardware, then try it. But if you really want to use OSX seriously then buying a mac is a better thought cause OSx86 will likely be hamstrung and painful to work on.
